1.DARLING:-

This is one of the commercial hits for Tollywood as well as young rebel star Prabhas who was looking for a deserving hit came in with ‘Darling’ . The female lead of this film Kajal Agarwal attracted the audience with her beautiful acts. The film was made with a budget of Rs 23 crores and it raked in Rs 30 crores bailing the producer B V S N Prasad out of a possible crisis.

2.SIMHA

With this film Nandamuri Balakrishna has become really Simha in terms of getting collections. The film not only brought life to the ailing Tollywood box office but also boosted the spirits of the Nandamuri fans who were starved for a hit. It also brought to light a rather elegant pairing of Balayya with Nayantara along with two other heroines and some hardcore fights. Director Boyapati Seenu who was craving for the big break finally got it through this action fiesta.

3. Maryada Ramanna

After magnum opus ‘Magadheera’, Rajamouli gave a surprise to tollywood that he announced a film ‘Maryada Ramanna ‘ with the noted comedy actor Sunil as the hero and this had no sleazy romance or massive fights. The film was made with a budget of Rs 20 crores and it managed to garner Rs 40 crores at the box office. The film also marked a new lease of life for actress Saloni.

4.Brindaavanam


Young tiger NTR junior image has changed with ‘Brindavanam’. It has brought forth an entirely new hero with a clean family image and a classy look. A wholesome family entertainer which was brimmed with the glamor of Kajal Agarwal and Samantha, this also brought back the career of director Vamsi Paidipally onto the track. The film was a lucky winner of sorts as it clashed with Mahesh Babu’s ‘Khaleja’ which had a rather painful storyline.

5.ROBOT

This is the best masterpiece in the recent past which not only took the Indian cinema into a new wave of technology but also conveyed a message that is of essence to today’s generation and the future generation. Superstar Rajinikanth has proved that he is the emperor of the box office while the showman Shankar sent a strong message to Shahrukh Khan that his conviction towards his script is always right. Many said that for the first time, they found Aishwarya Bachchan to be naturally beautiful and the music by the Chennai Mozart A R Rahman did the rest of the magic. The film made a whopping Rs 60 crore business in Tollywood.
